Welcome to my reference source for mainstream fiction transgender references. This is an extension of my monthly column in Transgender Forum. My first goal is to fill in the gaps in the reference sources we already have. A wealth of information exists on the web, but most of it deals with transformations. While I like these as much as anyone, I was frustrated by the fact that crossdressing has been ignored. That frustration prompted me to write a TG Forum column. Put up or shut up, right? And now that TG Forum has kindly made this web site available, I can provide additional book references here. So as not to compete with the transformation sites, I'll focus this site's reviews on crossdressing and those transformation references which haven't been picked up yet. I'll provide links to the transformation site(s), and if they ever disappear, I'll publish their information here.

Notes:
The TS/TV column simply states whether the transgendered character is TS, TV, or unknown. I've also added TF, for transformed H, for hermaphrodite, and Mind, for a mental takeover. I distinguish those from transsexual, which involves surgery. Who knows, you might care!
The Rating is a quick and dirty way for me to give you a 1-4 rating of the book's worth as a transgender read. Mostly I'll go by how descriptive it is of the transgendered person, behavior or feelings. In other words, is it worth your purchase, or should you just check it out of the library.
