Francines car is finally done!

I thought I would share with you just what I do in my spare time. One might think I do nothing but think of Francine and go out every chance I get, or just sit around wondering what to do as I ponder the days to come. Not me! I am always on the move. Always have a project going somewhere. Not because I need to keep busy but because I just love doing it. I find time so precious and want to accomplish so many things. Yet my projects are on a grand scale and require years instead of days to complete. Oh well it's the stuff dreams are made of. It's the stuff that keeps me going.

Thanks to the help of many community members I got all the cobb webs out of my head within the past few years. It takes a while to get 45 years of ill thinking and self-pity out of ones mind. But the day finally arrived. I started to clean up my past and took care of old projects that still seemed to haunt me. I am one of those individuals who cannot move forward until the old gets finished. I also found out that working on these unfinished jobs was part of the healing process. It is something that makes me feel proud of my accomplishments and proud of whom I am.

Many of you who know of Francine know that I do not spend a great amount of time with her or as her. Within the past few years I have been busy with an old car project, which has just recently been completed. Just this past spring I got it on the road and have received rave reviews with it. It is a 1966 Jaguar Type "E" Series one Roadster. There are not many of them around any more and very few that are fully restored. It is one of the most beautiful cars ever to be made. Francine has not had the pleasure of driving it yet but I am sure that day will soon be to come and many pictures will be available as well.

I bought this car in 1974 during my freshman year of college for a ridiculously low cost. I had all the intentions of restoring it then but ran into several roadblocks, which stalled the project for many years. The road to restoration was long and sometimes very frustrating. It required around three to four years to complete. Today it is totally finished and ready to go. Not a whole lot different than my life with Francine along. I am learning to enjoy life once again. I should also mention that Francine is still very alive and active. I am also proud of the girl within.
