BORN IN: Beaumont, Texas

HISTORY: I was born in southeast
Texas and was raised there and in the heart of
Cajun
country in next-door southwest Louisiana. Growing up, I knew that I was different,
but didn't really acknowledge
how different until I entered puberty and started putting on my mother's
clothes. And liking it! I overcompensated for this "abnormality"
by becoming a real juvenile delinquent: a macho, motorcycle-riding trouble
maker. Upon graduation from high school, when Vietnam was the war of choice,
I tried college to avoid the draft. But I really wasn't ready for more
school, so after flunking out, I joined the Navy and entered the
submarine
service for the next 9 years. Somewhere in that time, I also managed to
finish college. Then I got a real job.
OCCUPATION: I have worked
as a carpenter, plumber, fry cook, mechanic and electrician, but have been
involved in some aspect of the computer biz for about the past 25 years.

I started out in hardware while in the Navy and moved to software somewhere
after I went back to civilian life. Thanks to my Navy and
computer experience, I also speak fluent profanity.
My specialties are real-time microcomputer applications,
embedded systems, control software and
computer communications and interfaces. When not fulfilling my obligations as resident
CyberGoddess, I work in the process control industry as a Senior
Software Consultant (whatever the hell that is). Currently, I am not
devoting my time to any single company (that means I'm not working), so I'm
available for employment. I'll be happy to send you a resume.

PERSONALITY: I'm initially
very shy, but once that hurdle has been overcome, I can be quite outgoing.
I've even been told that I'm something of a show-off, and that's probably
true, since I've got
pictures
spread out all over cyberspace and in several magazines. I have a killer
sense of
humor, or at
least that's the impression I've gotten when I've performed a stand-up comedy
act at gender conventions and other out-of-the-way locations. I'm
very intelligent, and I'm probably the most laid-back person I know. I've
also been told that I'm more than a little bizarre, but I don't think that's
really true - it's just that I want to look and act like a woman.
RELATIONSHIP: I've been in a committed relationship since
1970. One son, born November, 1995, and one daughter, born May, 2001.
My partner tolerates my gender journey and is somewhat supportive but
is paranoid insofar as the "outside world" is concerned. We have
reached a working agreement about my gender orientation over the years
that works for us. The operative word here is "working", since
that arrangement has been known to change and evolve over the years. We are still together and
continue to work at our relationship.

OTHER INTERESTS (besides
shoe shopping) : Computers, especially PCs, of course.
I also spend some of my precious free time keeping a 1971 Dodge Charger
(with over half a million miles on her) on the road - an activity that is part
chore, part hobby and part love. I read voraciously, especially science
fiction, but anything will do when boredom sets in. I'm an avid
inline skater,
I like to dance, and I swim. In addition to the above, I dabble in
Victorian-era antiques, cooking,
roses, orchids, sewing and
writing when time allows.
