Miscellany

(Being a collection of miscellaneous snippets that might at some future time evolve into a full-fledged something. Or maybe not.)

The breeze, gentle and blind, softly touches all and,
not wishing to intrude, merely whispers.

A well-kept lawn is like a lot of people -
smooth and soft and pretty to look at,
hard and hurting and rough underneath
when you're expecting something to gently break your fall.

Tears pulled from my eyes by the gravity of living
life in a minor key.

There is a black wall buried in a hillside
in the capital of our country
and in the back of my mind.

Feeling bad is still feeling.

Beneath the choking smoke of hate often burns the fierce fire of fear.

The moon sits silently, weaving her tapestry
of dreams on the loom of the sea.

My favorite animals at the zoo are the people.

Fat robins bobbing on the sea of the lawn under
herons sculling home through the sky.
