cross dressing is like having a salad.  The type of dressing you choose will greatly affect how much you enjoy it!

If you are going out in public,  I just cannot overstate how important it is to dress to blend in with the other women there.  You have probably heard this a thousand times but that’s because it is so important.

Blending in, however, does not mean dressing like a slob.  You don’t have to wear sneakers, torn jeans and a tee shirt to pass in public.  You just need to scope out where you are going, both for what the others are wearing and what you may be able to get away with.  Some places are dressier than others.  A store in a nice downtown area, in an area with a lot of white collar workers may have more women dressed in suits and nice dresses than a suburban shopping mall.

Even at the malls, you do not have to wear pants.  Just make sure you tone down things as much as possible - skirts at the knee or lower, minimize the makeup, wear your most conservative wig.  Most of all, ask yourself if you would notice a woman wearing what you are wearing if you saw her walking your way?

If you are going to a transgender event, you have a lot more options, but still you may not want to dress like a hooker or go in lingerie.  Most transgender conventions have parties each night where you can dress up in your best evening gown and really pull out all the stops.  Wearing that kind of outfit in the day, however, may be unwise as these outfits are not made to be worn for 10 to 12 hours at a time.
